Please, please, please - I know it’s an executive order, but please do everything in your power to fight back against Trump’s order to allow for clear cutting of American forests. There’s nothing more important to the health and safety of everyone on earth AND the generations to come (your children! Grandchildren!) than the environment. Humans will always be able to pivot socially, but how will we do it when our environment is raped into nothingness? We need forests to capture carbon, reduce global warming, increase biodiversity which PROTECTS OUR FOOD, and research has shown time and again that clear cutting INCREASES THE RISK OF FOREST FIRES. The attacks of this administration on the environment make me sick to my stomach. We’re already seeing more flooding in Rhode Island - with less trees, there’s more chance for more carbon to be trapped, more warming to happen, more sea levels to rise, and more intense storms to decimate our communities. PLEASE PROTECT US!
