Elon Musk’s unchecked power within our government poses a direct threat to national security and democratic accountability. His leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has severely weakened federal agencies, cut essential services, and disregarded court rulings—all without congressional approval (AP News, March 2025). His significant conflicts of interest raise serious concerns, as he appears to use government influence to benefit his private businesses, including pressuring advertisers to return to X (Wall Street Journal, March 2025). Musk now participates in cabinet meetings and dominates policy decisions, while critical issues such as national security and economic stability remain unaddressed (Vanity Fair, March 2025). His reckless policies, including severe funding cuts to the EPA, Pentagon, and TSA, are undermining institutions that protect Americans (AP News, March 2025). Congress must urgently initiate hearings to investigate Musk’s role, his conflicts of interest, and the long-term damage he is inflicting on our country. The future of our democracy depends on restoring oversight and accountability. I am including state officials in this message because many of our elected representatives in Congress are complicit and unwilling to safeguard our democracy.
