I am writing to express my deep concern over the proposed plan to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, as outlined in recent statements by the adm inistration. The Department of Education plays a vital role in ensuring equitable access to education for all Americans. Its dissolution would have devastating consequences for the nation's students, educators, and future of our workforce. The proposed closure is harmful to families. It will disrupt and harm millions of children and families, most profoundly in underserved communities. Without federal support, states and local governments, many of which already face financial difficulties, will face a staggering burden. Communities will grapple with the erosion achievement standards which will only increase earning disparities and inequity. The future of our country demands a skilled and educated workforce. We demand a future for all our children full of promise. The success of our nation depends on decisions that you make. Thank you for your attention to this critical issue. I encourage you to reach out to your constituents. I encourage you to fully study this matter with educators and the business community at large. Thank you for your attention to this critical issue. I look forward to your response and hope that you will stand in defense of American education.
