Oppose discriminatory anti-trans legislation in Texas

To: Rep. Lee, Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott

From: A verified voter in Zephyrhills, FL

March 11

Texas lawmakers proposing the unconstitutional criminalization of being transgender is a violation of civil liberties. This blatantly discriminatory and harmful bill would make it illegal for transgender individuals to affirm their true gender identity, denying them the basic human right of self-determination. There is no justification for such an unjust law that directly targets a vulnerable minority group. Trans people are citizens deserving of equal rights and protections under the law. I urge you to reject this unethical legislation that perpetuates transphobia and fails to recognize the dignity and humanity of transgender Americans. Criminalizing one's very existence based on gender identity is unconscionable in a free society. Please stand up for the Constitutional rights of all your constituents by opposing any measures that discriminate against transgender Texans.
