No mask ban please. I’m high risk and continuously mask wear to work and everywhere else. Should I fall ill to respiratory illness or ongoing viruses, who will pay hospital bills, rent, utilities, buy food, caretake my 90yr old Mom, etc etc??? NO ONE!! I will lose everything. I’m a hairstylist and work in a crowded airless environment with face to face interactions. Following haircuts clients have kindly emailed they tested positive. I don’t worry because I’m masked. Recently my 90yr old Mom removed mask at a senior citizen holiday party and was hospitalized with HMPV (Human Metapneumovirus) taking months of recovery. She was near death and another BFF’s Mom contracted Covid at assisted living. I have friends enduring chemotherapy and others are transplant recipients. I very much dislike mask wearing as do my employers, however I need to be safe. Understood about criminality concerns, however historically most criminals typically utilize face coverings. Please concentrate on more important issues like affordable housing, combatting political safety for blue states, preserving our federal funds and government and on and on. I have ZERO recourse if I fall ill. I’m also protecting others. Mask wearing is a minuscule issue compared to what’s going on in our country and city. Please concentrate on where it matters most and I don’t mean financing Buffalo Bills stadium!
