Senator Grassley protect our courts! You are better than this!
To: Sen. Grassley
From: A constituent in Des Moines, IA
April 2
I am writing out of deep concern and disappointment regarding your introduction of the Judicial Relief Clarification Act of 2025. This bill would severely limit the ability of our federal courts to act as a check on executive power—one of the core functions our Constitution assigns to the judiciary.
In a time when the presidency is increasingly marked by erratic and unchecked behavior, weakening the courts is the last thing our democracy needs. This legislation risks tilting the balance of power dangerously toward a single branch of government, undermining the system of checks and balances that protects us all.
I’ve long respected your service to Iowa and your role in upholding the rule of law. Which is why this move is so troubling. You’ve spent a career defending constitutional integrity—this bill runs counter to that legacy.
I urge you to honor your oath of office. Defend the Constitution. Refuse to collaborate in the deliberate destruction of the country you’ve served for decades. You are better than this.
