Strengthening education access and quality for all Americans

To: Sen. Hoeven, Rep. Fedorchak, Sen. Cramer

From: A constituent in Horace, ND

March 20

The Department of Education plays a crucial role in ensuring equal access to quality education for all Americans. Abolishing it would undermine essential programs like Pell Grants, student loans, and educational research aimed at improving outcomes. Test scores reveal a national crisis where our children are falling behind, highlighting the need for robust federal support rather than diminished oversight. Returning education authority solely to the states risks exacerbating existing disparities and inequities. I urge you to reject any efforts to dismantle the Department of Education and instead prioritize strengthening its mission of providing every child with the opportunity to receive a world-class education, regardless of their circumstances. Investing in education is an investment in the future of our nation.
