Write Fight for Rumeysa Ozturk. We are in serious trouble as a democracy as the Trump administration picks off one by one anyone who expresses political dissent. The intent of this is to terrify opponents into submission. There is a rapid escalation from the disappearing of those who are allegedly undocumented to the disappearing of those whom we know full well have legal visas. It is only a matter of time before the same is happening to American citizens. This has implications for all residents of this country. This has implications for whether or not the first amendment still stands. But it also has very real impact on this specific human being who is being illegally detained simply for exercising her first amendment rights. Fight for her. Talk about her. As time goes on, we will all be at risk.
