Investigate Sec. Hegseth and the administration’s flagrant breaches of security!

March 25
I’m writing to demand that, as Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee, you initiate a Congressional investigation into the actions of Secretary of Defense Hegseth, his staff, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and all those individuals included in the “Houthi PC Group” Signal chat that was revealed in The Atlantic yesterday.
The use of this commercial application demonstrates that Sec Hegseth and the group members deliberately circumvented official, classified communication channels to plan classified activities. This put the warfighters, operation, and country in severe danger. Moreover, it meant there has been no official record of this or any untold number of other official activities. This contravenes several longstanding laws and all accepted security protocols.
As Vice Chair of the Committee, it is your responsibility to ensure the proper operation of DOD and our armed services. Your role DEMANDS you investigate this incident, and discover how many other instances have gone unreported. As one of your constituents, I have been dismayed by your inaction and silence to date on multiple issues of vital importance to our district, including protecting veterans, ensuring seniors receive medical care, climate change executive actions and policies, the protection of government data from non-governmental and unclassified staff and systems, and now this clear breach of protocol, law, and security.
Investigate Secretary Hegseth and the administration’s use of Signal and other non-approved communication systems for government business. Ensure our warfighters and the data about their work are secured.
You are a US Congressman in a position of authority and responsibility on the committee that governs how our armed forces are managed and prepared to keep America safe. It’s beyond time that you fulfilled your oath of office. Investigate Secretary Hegseth.
