Demand the resignation of officials involved with Signal war plans chat
To: Sen. Cruz, Rep. Self, Sen. Cornyn
From: A constituent in Frisco, TX
March 26
Demand the resignation of every U.S. official involved in the Signal groupchat scandal. A special prosecutor must be assigned to investigate this massive security breach.
Thanks to The Atlantic, the world now knows what was discussed in the chat and that it was important, should-be-kept secret information. There is no excuse for United States officials to be using a third-party platform to discuss government business. Especially not secret info like war plans. If this happened in a corporation, all of the people involved would’ve been fired immediately.
I want you to find out:
1. Why is the Trump administration lying about the contents of the chat?
2. Why are government officials using a third party chat app to discuss war plans?
3. Why do all these men still have their jobs?
It’s documented that adversarial countries monitor Signal. It’s also known that questionable conversations happen on Signal because the messages get deleted so there’s no ‘paper trail.’ Add in the fact that the chat violated OPSEC, and this is completely unacceptable.
The officials involved with this Signal fiasco must be removed from their positions. This must be investigated with the highest priority.
