Classified China Operations Briefing
To: Sen. Moody, Sen. Scott, Rep. Webster
From: A constituent in The Villages, FL
March 21
I am writing to express my grave concern over the classified briefing Elon Musk is receiving on US plans to defend against China. Anyone who has been associated with operational planning would certainly be aghast at briefing an individual who has shown close ties with Russia, especially with the continuing economic, military and political ties Russia and China share. Mr. Musk has strong conflicts of interest due to his business with both Russia and China, which increases the likelihood of a disclosure. Mr. Musk is neither an elected official or an appointed official who was confirmed, why is there a need to know what our operational plans are if he is there to route fraud, waste and abuse. His knowledge of US plans is a based in the tactics and logistics to put in place to support any such operation. He is not tactically knowledgeable, as evidenced by his declaration the US should quit procuring F-35 fighters. DOGE is headed by Mr. Musk, regardless of what sham messages the executive branch is proclaiming. DOGE has already had several personnel who have, either previously or recently, disclosed sensitive material. Is it safe to trust some of the nation’s most vital secrets to such an organization. The claim that the brief is for Mr. Musk alone is based on the premise that he will not share any of that information with his personnel. He has not been vetted for a clearance, in fact has admitted to drug use, to include Ketamine, has strong relationships with foreign adversaries and has proven on several occasions untrustworthy based upon his lies or half truths. Is current efforts to find the source of the leak about his briefing and take punitive action is just another example. Military and civilians in DoD are taught from entry they do not have to obey an unlawful order and should if they become aware of such behavior report the situation. Mr. Musk does not have the requisite screening, has significant conflicts of interest with foreign adversaries and does not have the need to know in his current role. Did Mr. Musk sign the non disclosure of classified material, I would certainly doubt it. With no need to know, not properly vetted, known business and personal ties with adversaries and proclaimed drug use there should be no classified briefing for Mr. Musk on our operational plans and they deal with China. As for it is not a classified brief, unclassified briefs are provided in unclassified spaces. Using a secure facility means the briefing as at or above the Top Secret level. When is Congress going exercise their duties and ensure the checks and balances between the three branches of our government. STOP Elon Musk from taking on duties not conveyed to him either by election or nomination and confirmation. STOP the gutting of the government and maintain Congress’s power of the purse. Take your oath seriously to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.
