Defend Social Security, Medicaid, and Public Programs from Corrupt Attacks
To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. Beyer
From: A constituent in Falls Church, VA
March 14
I am writing as a concerned citizen alarmed by ongoing, coordinated efforts to undermine and dismantle the very programs that protect the most vulnerable among us—Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and others.
These are not entitlements. They are earned benefits and social safety nets that represent our shared values: dignity, compassion, and community. Yet they are under siege by lawmakers and billionaires who will never rely on them, who spread misinformation, and who push for privatization under the guise of “reform.”
This is not fiscal responsibility—it’s moral bankruptcy.
I strongly urge you to:
1. Publicly and unequivocally oppose any attempt to privatize or cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid.
2. Defend SNAP and other social safety nets that keep families fed and children healthy.
3. Reject the scapegoating of these programs as the root of our budget problems while corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay less than their fair share.
4. Support robust oversight and hearings on misinformation campaigns targeting these programs.
The people are watching. We’re tired of corporate puppets pretending to represent us. If you stand with us, we will stand with you. If you betray us, we will remember.
Do the right thing. History is watching.
