I implore you to reconsider these misguided staffing reductions that undermine the department's ability to serve America's students and the future of our children's education. As a parent invested in quality public education, I am deeply concerned that dismantling key civil rights enforcement, policy guidance, and education research capacities within the Department of Education ignores federal protections against discrimination that all students deserve, proper oversight of funding streams designed for vulnerable populations, and evidence-based strategies in the classroom. Hollowing out these essential functions puts my children's right to an equitable and effective education at risk, which contradicts the principles of putting America First or Making us Great.
