I am deeply concerned about recent statements by Donald Trump suggesting he may seek a third term, as reported by NPR on March 30, 2025. The 22nd Amendment clearly limits a president to two terms, and any attempt to circumvent this restriction is a direct threat to our democracy.
While this is a federal issue, I urge you to:
1. Publicly affirm your commitment to upholding constitutional term limits.
2. Reject any state-level efforts to support or enable a third term for any president.
3. Take a stand for democracy and the rule of law by ensuring our state does not play a role in eroding these protections.
Our democratic system depends on leaders at all levels standing against unconstitutional overreach. I expect you to make it clear that any attempt to undermine presidential term limits is unacceptable.
