As an active and trusted member of the local business and medical community I would like to express my vehement opposition to HB 599, the bill sponsored by the self serving hack Nan Cobb, of Lake County Florida. Not shockingly, this bill would directly benefit her family's business and her personal wealth at the expense of millions of Floridians. Personally, our family would be affected as we have large trees, over a century old predating the construction of the entire neighborhood on our property. Hack Nan Cobb would retroactively make us responsible for a tree that existed before any homes- our own and 3 neighbors- ever did. Since the recent hurricanes we have struggled as much with insurance costs as other floridians. Our family prides itself on living within its means, so we have purchased a small home with rehab potential and have been improving the property steadily for years. A switch in policy as proposed by self serving Nan Cobb would destroy a conservative family like ours. Insurance rates would skyrocket past the exorbitant rates they are already allowed, through a state financed agency nonetheless ie citizens. I am a physician and my wife is a mental health therapist. As we own our practice location we will certainly be hit on multiple fronts. I will plan on letting all my patients and local hospital coworkers know that this bill, and the representatives that support it are behind insurance increases. Additionally, they are planning to try to pass it in an insidious fashion akin to that of the the incredibly unpopular state park changes that were shot down by overwhelming opposition by all parties. Thank you for your time.
