Free Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia University student arrested by ICE for using his constitutionally protected right to speak out against injustice in Palestine. There is a distinct and discernible difference between supporting people caught in a war and the political entities waging that war. Hamas is not the Palestinian people. Speaking out for the rights of Palestinian is not an endorsement of Hamas. Revoking Khalil’s green card is a grave injustice that the people of America and the world are watching closely. If ICE can disappear Khalil, it is only a pretext to disappearing innumerable numbers of students on campuses around the country who disagree with the current administration on any number of topics. Free Mahmoud Khalil and preserve the 1st Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech.
