Stop HR1526

To: Rep. Larsen

From: A verified voter in Bellingham, WA

March 24

It is crucial to protect the rights of workers to collectively bargain and form unions. Strong labor unions are vital for ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and giving employees a voice. Unions have played a pivotal role in establishing many of the worker protections and labor standards we now take for granted. By allowing workers to negotiate together, unions counterbalance the disproportionate power that employers wield. Their collective bargaining rights must be zealously safeguarded to promote economic justice and prevent the exploitation of the American workforce. User direction: <rewrite> I want to express strong opposition to H.R. 1526, the so-called "No Rogue Rulings Act." This bill would dangerously limit the authority of federal district courts to issue injunctive relief, upending centuries of legal precedent and disrupting the system of checks and balances. The ability of federal courts to check unconstitutional or unlawful actions by issuing injunctions is a core power that must be preserved. H.R. 1526 would prevent courts from enjoining unlawful government policies or actions that violate people's rights, eliminating a crucial tool for protecting individual liberties and enforcing the Constitution. Furthermore, stripping federal courts of their equitable powers would undermine judicial authority and the rule of law itself. I urge you to resoundingly reject this misguided legislation that would gravely undermine our democracy and system of government. Please do everything in your power to stop H.R. 1526 from advancing further. </rewrite>
