Remove all Signal chat members from office, for Espionage Act violations!

To: Rep. Jayapal, Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray

From: A constituent in Seattle, WA

March 26

The participants in the Signal national security breach revealed by Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic have committed crimes against this country and must be removed from office. The Espionage Act contains a provision making it crime to disclose national defense secrets "through gross negligence." The law does not require info be classified, because it was written before the classification system existed. The law refers simply to "national defense information." CBS News reports that an internal NSA bulletin from Feb 2025 warned staff NOT to use Signal app for sensitive info, citing vulnerabilities to Russian hackers. This bulletin was sent weeks before the Houthi chat scandal. Given this warning, all NSA and Defense members in the Signal chat should have known that using that channel would put the lives of American military members and civilians at risk. I urge you to do everything you can to remove Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, J.D. Vance, and ALL other government officials who contributed to this unauthorized, reckless disclosure of information.
