Republicans are running scared. Instead of facing their constituents, they’ve been told to stop holding in-person town halls – because they know Trump’s cuts to veterans’ services, infrastructure, and Medicaid are deeply unpopular.
This is where Democrats must step up. The public deserves to know exactly how these cuts will affect them, and even as Republicans won’t admit it, Democrats must expose them.
You can take it one step further too. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has already set the example, offering to hold town halls in Republican districts where lawmakers are too afraid to show up. We need more Democrats to follow his lead, holding public events, standing with impacted communities, and making it clear what’s at stake in the fight for the future of this country.
Please, hold in-person town halls in our district and state. Shine a light on Trump’s reckless agenda, and make sure every voter understands you are fighting for them.
