I am writing to you as a constituent who expects you to uphold the oath you took to defend the United States Constitution. That includes respecting the checks and balances that define our democracy—something that, at this moment, is under direct attack. Regardless of political views, one principle should be inviolable: the rule of law. Yet, we have a President who openly disregards judicial authority, twisting the system to serve his interests. This weekend, he made it clear once again that he has no intention of abiding by court orders, defying a ruling by unlawfully rounding up and deporting Venezuelans without authorization. This nation is built on due process, integrity, and the fundamental belief that people—no matter where they come from—deserve to be treated as human beings. Instead, we are witnessing encampment-style deportations, mass roundups of individuals who vanish into a system with little oversight, and the blatant weaponization of federal resources to further cruelty. Meanwhile, taxpayers foot the bill for deportation flights costing over $300,000 each—all under the false pretense of "saving money" and "making the country better." Better for whom? The wealthy and powerful? Your silence in the face of this speaks volumes. Rather than engaging with your constituents, holding town halls, or fighting for policies that reflect the values of the people you represent, you remain tucked away in Washington, complicit through inaction. The world is watching as our country becomes a global embarrassment. The question is: will you stand on the side of democracy, or will you continue enabling authoritarian overreach? Enough with boilerplate responses. We demand real answers. Where do you stand?
