We are watching the SYSTEMATIC destruction of our Republic and it is happening on your watch. Since the Great Depression and the two World Wars, the US has operated under a forward thinking, progressive policy aimed at creating a safety net which would support the most vulnerable Americans and promote American values abroad. President Trump and his allies are engaged in an UNPRECEDENTED power grab. They do not represent America, American values, or the best this country has to offer. Meanwhile, my Congressional Representatives have completely abdicated their responsibility. You’ve ceded your power. It is a personal, moral, and professional failure. I do not expect you to diverge from the President on every issue. You are members of his party. HOWEVER, I do expect you to hold him responsible for his actions and I expect you to wield the power you’ve been given! A power given to you by the People to be used for the People. We are watching. We are paying attention. We are prepared to vote you out! You do not answer to the President. You answer to us, your constituents. Do your job! Prevent the closure of the agencies which have been Congressionally created and Congressionally funded. Protect the safety net. Prevent the abuse of power. Ensure the President understands that he is NOT a King and America will NEVER bend the knee to a dictator.
