I do not support House Bill 793 or any related work to deny public education to undocumented children in TN. From what I've read, this is being done in an attempt to save the state money. However when this is combined with other things like the recent school voucher changes, I do not believe any money will be saved at all and if anything, this will cost the state more money. The state could easily end up paying schools twice for the same student, or paying 2 different schools for the same student. Since the goal is said to be cost savings, I do not support this work at all. If the true goal to do hurt undocumented families, then that should be made public.
