The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plays a critical role in safeguarding the environment and promoting public health. Its mission is being undermined by the current administration's actions, including terminating hundreds of employees, placing others on leave, and removing resources dedicated to environmental justice. At a time when climate change poses an increasingly grave threat, gutting the EPA's workforce and disregarding its core responsibilities is reckless and jeopardizes the well-being of all Americans. Urgent congressional oversight is needed to ensure the EPA can fulfill its mandate to protect the environment and address climate change. Intimidating EPA staff, eliminating vital functions, and dismantling environmental justice initiatives undermines decades of progress. Such actions prioritize polluters over public welfare. As a constituent, I implore you to take decisive action by holding oversight hearings and advocating for the EPA to carry out its essential work unencumbered. The consequences of inaction will be disastrous for our environment and public health.
