Immediately divest from Tesla

To: Mayor Adams

From: A verified voter in Brooklyn, NY

March 29

The city's pension funds hold an estimated $1.2 billion in Tesla stock under Elon Musk's leadership. However, Musk's actions, including his efforts to slash federal agency funding and jobs that put the financial security of retired New Yorkers at risk, are directly harming our city. As a company, Tesla has also faced protests, plummeting stock prices, and allegations of unethical labor practices. Investing public pension dollars in a corporation actively working against the interests of our city and its residents is unacceptable. I urge you to begin the process of fully divesting the city's pension funds from all Tesla holdings. New York must take a stand against Musk's damaging policies by removing our financial stake in his company. Our city's retirees deserve to have their hard-earned money invested responsibly in ethical businesses, not an enterprise that threatens their well-being.
