Stop DOGE. Save Social Security

I am writing concerning the Department of Government Efficiency’s closing Social Security Administration offices nationwide and firing SSA staff. Those SSA offices were already grossly understaffed. Closing offices and firing staff in this case is anything but “efficient.” Millions of seniors will be negatively affected, if not financially devastated. Social Security funds are our money. Every working American has paid into Social Security ever since their first paycheck. Making it more difficult, or impossible, to access those funds is robbery. Additionally, DOGE has no legal authority to take these drastic actions. Elon Musk, who was neither elected nor vetted, has no authority to direct this ‘department’ and its unconstitutional activities. That authority rests solely with Congress. Congress must step in and use its constitutionally-granted power to put an end to this. Musk and DOGE do not work for the people. You and your colleagues do. Please. We the people need you to stop this Social Security debacle.
