I am calling on you to NOT support the resolution overturning the CFPB rule that would cap the overdraft fees at banks. This is a practice that has long been created to generate revenue for banks, and harms the most vulnerable in our communities.
This is a long-standing junk fee that has nothing to do with inflation, despite what Senator Scott may have said. To remove the caps would help fiscally harm millions of Americans, particularly those who are most vulnerable. The regulation would “save the average working class household something like $265 a year.
