Investigate DOGE's overreach into citizen data systems

To: Rep. Carter, Sen. Kennedy, Sen. Cassidy

From: A verified voter in New Orleans, LA

April 1

I strongly urge immediate Congressional scrutiny into the concerning revelations about DOGE and its employees' far-reaching access to sensitive government data systems across multiple federal agencies. The fact that Marko Elez, who previously resigned for disseminating protected information improperly, has now been rehired and granted access to systems like Medicare, Medicaid, and wage data raises serious privacy and security concerns. Court documents outline how several DOGE staffers have been embedded at agencies like HHS, Labor, and the CFPB with privileges extending into contractual, financial, and human resources files - an overreach warranting investigation into DOGE's legal authority and adherence to proper protocols. The unlawful dismantling of the CFPB further demonstrates this administration's disregard for congressional oversight. Congress must assert its Constitutional authority by launching hearings to uphold transparency and uncover DOGE's rationale for this sweeping data access, which appears to violate Americans' privacy rights and federal data-sharing laws. Urgent action is needed to rein in executive overreach and protect citizen data from mishandling.
