The cuts by Musk and DOGE are severely impacting the proper functioning of government agencies. In particular, the reductions in force are creating problems throughout the government and hurting YOUR constituents: — Social Security is encountering delays and confusion, impacting (potentially) millions of citizens — the US Weather Service is skipping data collection, which will result in poorer forecasts, including warnings of severe weather events — the FAA is instituting ground stops at peak travel times because of an insufficient number of ATC personnel — the IRS will investigate fewer frauds while offering poorer customer service, thus reducing needed collections — the Veterans Administration is reducing health care, especially suicide prevention — CISA is shuttering programs vital to national security — the National Park Service is restricting safety patrols and possibly reducing park hours as we head into peak tourist season And there are many, MANY more examples. Meanwhile, almost zero real fraud and abuse instances have been found—federal agencies were regularly audited, and public reports were made. Also, before being fired, those agencies had robust Inspector General offices that investigated and prosecuted any real infractions. The DOGEies are unfamiliar with the systems and are not trained auditors, so they have been chopping things they don’t understand that are not real problems. The only things Musk and his inept minions have been doing are dismantling any agencies that were investigating him while making the government operate WORSE. Plus, they have been recklessly endangering citizen privacy, possibly violating the law and the Constitution, and trampling the authority of Congress — YOUR authority. This will NOT save the government any significant amount of money. If you want to do that, make Musk and other billionaires pay their fair share. SHUT DOWN DOGE! Undo their reckless cuts! Represent your constituents and honor your oath of office. Grow a spine. Stop being a rubber stamp for destruction, and DO YOUR JOB!
