Healthcare is a human right regardless of immigration status

To: Sen. Padilla, Rep. Levin, Sen. Schiff

From: A constituent in Oceanside, CA

March 11

The proposed No Medicaid for Illegal Immigrants Act of 2025 seeks to deny medical assistance through Medicaid to undocumented immigrants, even though many contribute to the tax system funding programs like Medicaid. Denying healthcare access is unethical and inhumane, as everyone deserves access to basic medical care regardless of immigration status. This bill contradicts principles of human rights and fails to recognize the humanity and basic needs of undocumented individuals residing in the United States. I urge you to oppose this legislation that would cruelly deprive a vulnerable population of essential healthcare services. Providing medical coverage promotes public health and upholds human dignity for all. Healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege contingent on immigration papers. Vote against this misguided and unjust bill.
