Protect federal agencies

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Arrington, Sen. Cruz, Pres. Trump

From: A constituent in Big Spring, TX

March 15

Take action to urge Congress to protect the integrity of the federal civil service. Urge Congress to remove Elon Musk and stop funding DOGE. Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have been on the job for less than two months, but the early results are nothing short of disastrous. A series of airplane safety incidents. Cancelled appointments at the VA. Long lines outside national parks. Abandoned medical research. And, through it all, an overriding sense that the world’s richest man is using his power over Donald Trump to steal from the public coffers and enrich himself.   To create a more efficient and effective federal government, the first thing we should do is fire Elon Musk and close his DOGE. If Congress does so, 2.3 million federal workers – people who understand what the government does – stand ready to help the administration root out waste and build a more perfect union. DOGE has exceeded its non-existent statutory authority and pursued an agenda contrary to that of its predecessor agency, the U.S. Digital Service. Elon Musk’s DOGE has shown complete disdain for any actual elimination of waste, fraud or abuse. Instead, DOGE has arrogantly sought to destroy the ability of federal agencies to deliver services to the American people and ruin the careers of patriotic civil servants devoted to public service. Likewise, its disregard for the Constitutional role of the United States Congress reveals in stark terms that DOGE’s goal is to incapacitate, not to improve executive branch agencies.
