Oppose: HB291 "Revise laws related to air quality standards"

To: Gov. Gianforte, Sen. Morigeau, Rep. Howell

From: A constituent in Missoula, MT

March 25

I urge you to oppose and vote no on HB291 because this would prevent Montana from implementing air quality standards unless forced to by the federal government. Makes coal plants easier to permit regardless of the harms to public health. Why it's bad: Air pollution causes lasting damage to our lungs and brain, leading to heavy metals being found in the blood of infants. It is responsible for thousands of premature deaths in the U.S. every year. We should be reducing air pollution, not making it easier for corporations to release unchecked pollutants into the air.  I urge the Senate Natural Resources Committee to remember who they serve. Your Constituent,
