Condemnation of appointment of Mehmet Oz.
To: Sen. McConnell, Sen. Paul
From: A verified voter in Louisville, KY
April 4
I am alarmed by the confirmation of Dr. Mehmet Oz as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. While he may have a medical degree, his long history of promoting unproven supplements and pseudoscientific treatments makes him unfit to oversee critical healthcare programs.
Dr. Oz has repeatedly undermined public trust in medicine for personal gain. CMS requires serious, evidence-based leadership — not a TV doctor known for misinformation. Millions of Americans rely on these programs, and their health should not be jeopardized by someone with a track record of putting profit over science.
This appointment is a mistake. I urge you to reconsider your support and advocate for leadership that prioritizes integrity, expertise, and the public good.
