Immediate Resignation of Officials Who Mishandled Classified Information

To: Sen. Moody, Rep. Buchanan, Sen. Scott

From: A verified voter in Bradenton, FL

April 3

I am writing to demand the immediate resignation—or termination—of every government official involved in the now-public Signal group chat in which classified military planning was discussed using an unsecured, unauthorized platform. This recklessness knowingly violated national security protocols and federal law. Those involved reportedly include: • Vice President JD Vance • Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth • National Security Adviser Mike Waltz • Secretary of State Marco Rubio • National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard • Homeland Security Adviser Stephen Miller • White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles • And others The American people were assured these officials were chosen for their judgment. Instead, they put the U.S. at risk by using unsecured communications for war planning, including a Signal group that accidentally included a journalist as well as others. That is not just careless—it’s dangerous. As Pete Hegseth himself once said on Fox News in 2016: “If anybody else had done what Hillary Clinton did, they’d be in jail right now. There’s no excuse for mishandling classified information—none.” I agree. And in the words of the current President, Donald J. Trump: “You’re fired.” This level of hypocrisy and disregard for the law cannot be tolerated. Every official who participated in or failed to stop this communication breach should resign or be removed from office immediately. Anything less would confirm there are no longer standards in place for protecting our national security—just political loyalty and unchecked power.
