This legislation seeks to require all voters to present restrictive forms of identification, which multiple studies have shown disproportionately prevents people of color, the elderly, low-income individuals, and those with disabilities from exercising their constitutional right to vote. Furthermore, the bill imposes unnecessary burdens like mandating that states remove ineligible voters from rolls in ways that risk removing legitimate voters as well.
