An Open Letter
To: Gov. Cox
From: A constituent in Holladay, UT
March 25
Please do something to restore the Great Salt Lake. I understand that our state really likes money, and I understand data centers, golf courses, and alfalfa farms generate income for the state, but if the lake dies and the heavy metals at the bottom become airborne, this entire valley becomes uninhabitable, and no money is worth that. Please take care of the people and the habitat first, and line the coffers after. I let my lawn die last year, and took five minute showers all summer, and the second the lake got filled enough to start selling it off again, the state sold a bunch of water shares. What a betrayal of your people. I'm very disappointed.
