Thank You for Your Powerful Stand
To: Sen. Kim, Sen. Booker
From: A constituent in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ
April 2
Dear Senator Booker,
I want to express my deepest gratitude for your courage and conviction. When you stood up and declared, “I rise with the intention of disrupting the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able,” it was more than just a statement—it was a call to action, a beacon of hope for those of us who have spent the last few months calling, emailing, and organizing to defend our democracy.
“These are not normal times in America, and they should not be treated as such.” Your words rang so true. Fighting against the injustice of this administration has felt like screaming into the void, but last night, that void echoed back. Your stand was a reminder that we are not alone, that our resistance matters, and that history is being written in moments like these. This IS A MORAL MOMENT!
The threats to our democracy are, as you said, “grave and urgent.” But your unwavering leadership reminds us that we have power, that we can make a difference, and that we must continue this fight. Thank you for using your voice, your platform, and your strength to stand for what is right. We will continue standing with you. We are grateful, we are proud and we are just getting started. Thank you for taking such bold action. For making some good trouble. It makes all the difference!
With deep gratitude and admiration
