I am concerned about the potential for reduced funding for libraries outlined in the Internet Movement Librarians' Statement on IMLS Funding for 2025. Libraries provide invaluable resources and services that enrich communities across America. Cutting funds would undermine libraries' ability to offer programs like early literacy initiatives, job training, access to computers and internet for those without home access, and spaces for civic engagement. As a cost-effective investment in education and community development, library funding should be preserved and increased to meet growing needs. I urge you to reject any proposed cuts and instead increase support for this vital public infrastructure.
