Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are what make up the fear-mongered “DEI” term. What part of DEI do you dislike most? Please let me know so I can tell your constituents what you do and don’t care about.
DEI initiatives play an important role in supporting students with disabilities or different ethnic backgrounds by promoting their inclusion in mainstream classrooms rather than segregating them. Banning DEI efforts risks reverting to past harmful practices of separating students with disabilities or other forms of diversity instead of providing an equitable, inclusive education alongside their peers. Maintaining robust DEI programs in schools ensures all students, including those with disabilities and who aren’t white, receive the supportive and welcoming learning environment they need and deserve.
