We have many honored military members from our great state of Ohio. So many have served in all facets to protect this country, and look what our federal government has done to our military members! The Arlington National Cemetery website has removed links to information on prominent Black, Hispanic and female service members as part of President Donald Trump’s ongoing efforts to eliminate references to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Among the internal links that no longer appear on the website are those directing users to pages related to dozens of “Notable Graves” of minority service members buried in the cemetery, as well as educational materials on modules including the Civil War and African American history.
Links to three lists of Black, Hispanic and female service members buried at Arlington Cemetery no longer appear on the website, according to the military news site Task & Purpose.
This is absolutely and utterly offensive to our military, our history, and our nation. This is a disgraceful and despicable error of judgement. Are any of these service members from Ohio? I demand that you do something to reinstate these honored members of our service from the Buckeye state who gave their lives to ensure and protect our freedoms.
This is truly such a dark time in our nation. I weep at the fact that we should stoop so low. Please do something about Musk and Trump, and honor these veterans at Arlington. Stand up against the federal government and stop complying in advance to executive orders that aren’t law. Honor our women and BIPOC service members.
