I am writing to express my profound concern and outrage of a recent development involving the Social Security Administration (SSA), and the department of government efficiency (DOGE) led by Elon Musk. The actions and threats emanating from these entities pose a direct threat to the financial stability and well-being of millions of Americans, who rely on Social Security benefits. A federal judge recently ruled that DOGE‘s access to SSA sensitive personal data was a fishing expedition, lacking concrete justification; thereby violating privacy laws in response, acting Social Security commissioner Leland Dudeck has threatened to shut down the entire agency jeopardizing the livelihood of over 73 million beneficiaries. These developments are alarming, especially considering the Social Security is a program funded by the hard earned contributions of American workers. Any attempt to undermine its integrity or divert its funds for purposes, such as tax breaks for the wealthy or private projects is unacceptable. The recent threats to hold Social Security operations, not only disregard legal mandates, but also exhibit a blatant disregard for the well-being of citizens. I urge you to take immediate decisive action to ensure compliance with additional orders, hold SSA leadership accountable to fully comply with court, ruling to protect citizen’s privacy and prevent unauthorized access to personal data, protect Social Security fund, safeguard Social Security finances from being misused for purposes, other than providing benefits to eligible recipients, maintain Social Security operations, prevent any unwanted shutdowns of SSA. that would disrupt the distribution of benefits to millions of Americans who depend on this vital program. Social Security is a cornerstone of our social safety net and it is imperative that we protect protected from actions that threaten his efficiency and the trust the American people. I look forward to your proper response and action on this critical issue.
