I'm writing to let you know how disappointed I was that no other democrats followed Rep. Al Green's example at the state of the union address. In my opinion, each of you in attendance should have disrupted proceedings similarly. We are facing an existential crisis. Wearing matching outfits and holding little signs are not an appropriately tailored response to this level of emergency. Please inform leadership that the people need your solidarity and example in civil disobedience. We are on the streets shouting to be heard. You missed an opportunity to amplify our message for the country and world to see. Our lives are falling apart. Our democracy is falling apart. We need you to use the power you have.
