Hold Hegseth, VP and Rubio Accountable for Top Secret Messages Mistake
To: Rep. Cohen
From: A constituent in Bartlett, TN
March 24
I am writing to urge you to take action to hold Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, and Marco Rubio accountable for their text chain that compromised the integrity of a top secret military action.
I remember that you were vocal when other Representatives and Candidates made mistakes that put our national security at risk, most notably when Hillary Clinton used an unsafe server for emails. I believe calling out harmful behavior is the correct response, whether it’s a party you agree with or one that you don’t.
The safety of our service members is worth advocating for, and to do anything less than calling for investigations and even resignations of the people involved would be disrespectful to our troops.
I am sure we can all agree on prioritizing the safety of our armed forces and the integrity of our national security.
There are some matters on which we can compromise or find a common ground between differing opinions, but this is not one of those matters. This is a clear misuse of classified information and a woeful lapse in judgement.
We are relying on you to hold leadership accountable to the American people, to safeguard our great nation.
