March 13

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns about appointments within the federal government, specifically the selection of individuals associated with Project 2025 for key positions in the current administration. Project 2025, developed by the Heritage Foundation, outlines a comprehensive conservative agenda aiming to reshape various facets of federal governance. Notably, several contributors to this project have been appointed to influential roles: Russell Vought: Appointed as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Vought played a pivotal role in crafting Project 2025's fiscal policies. His previous tenure at OMB was marked by efforts to undermine federal job protections and redirect foreign aid. Brendan Carr: Nominated to lead the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Carr authored the chapter on the agency in the Project 2025 manifesto. His appointment could signal significant shifts in telecommunications policy. Tom Homan: Selected as the administration's "border czar," Homan contributed to Project 2025's immigration policies, which advocate for stricter enforcement measures. While the administration asserts that these appointments align with its agenda, not external organizations, the direct correlation between Project 2025's contributors and their new roles raises questions about the potential influence of this blueprint on federal policies. As your constituent, I urge you to: 1. Scrutinize Appointments: Ensure that individuals nominated for key positions are evaluated based on their qualifications, experience, and commitment to serving the public interest, rather than their affiliation with specific ideological projects. 2. Promote Transparency: Advocate for clear communication regarding how external policy blueprints, like Project 2025, influence administrative decisions and appointments. 3. Uphold Checks and Balances: Maintain vigilant oversight to prevent any consolidation of power that could undermine democratic institutions and processes. We need to uphold the vision our founding fathers had for our country. We cannot let them dismantle what we have worked so hard for I trust that you will consider these concerns seriously and act in the best interest of all constituents. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
