I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent security breach involving Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other senior officials, in which classified military plans were inadvertently shared with a journalist. This egregious lapse in judgment compromised national security, endangered American service members, and severely undermined public trust in our government’s ability to safeguard sensitive information.
The careless handling of classified information is not only reckless but also in direct violation of the standards expected from top defense officials. The fact that this incident led to immediate military action raises serious questions about operational security, decision-making, and accountability at the highest levels of our government.
Given the gravity of this breach, I urge you to take immediate action:
1. Demand a full and transparent investigation into the unauthorized disclosure of classified information.
2. Push for the resignation or removal of Secretary Hegseth if found responsible for compromising national security.
3. Introduce or support legislation to ensure secure and regulated communication channels for high-ranking officials handling sensitive information.
National security should never be treated with such negligence, and those responsible must be held accountable. The American people deserve leaders who uphold the highest standards of integrity and security. I look forward to your response and to seeing swift and decisive action on this matter.
Thank you for your time and service. I trust that you will act in the best interest of our nation’s security and uphold the trust of your constituents.
