An Open Letter

To: Gov. DeSantis, Rep. Cross, Sen. DiCeglie

From: A constituent in Pinellas Park, FL

March 5

As you are aware, our administration under Trump has removed committees and has either already or has threatened to remove federal programs giving assistance to the American people against the knowledge that this will ensure the people of this country become homeless, lose their jobs, starve, lose access to health care, and income. The programs aimed to search for cures for diseases as well as treatments to keep everyone from newborns to the elderly alive and healthy is an aberration. The administration is purposely seeking to eliminate EBT, WIC, Medicare, Medicaid, school lunches, VA benefits, Social Security, disability benefits, and much more that the American people depend on to survive. Programs that have been eliminated that sought to cure or find better treatments for adolescent cancers, Alzheimer disease, vaccination research, early detection of cancers in women, and more will set back our country decades and people will die. The administration does not care that by eliminating these programs the American people will suffer and our country will go quickly into a downward spiral that we will most likely not recover from for a long time if ever. You have the voice and the votes to overturn these barbaric practices and ensure our people have the security and support of its elected officials and country. We are watching the way you vote, what you say in Town Hall meetings, in interviews, on social media, and how you react to the pushback from your constituents. You need to make a choice of if you are for the American people or continue to strip the people of what they need to live.
