Hello, I am a Marylander and I want a healthier future for the people of Maryland. This is why I ask you to support HB1208, which should be having a hearing this week. HB1208 does an admirable although not perfect job removing some food coloring and preservatives from our food. While the FDA has claimed that some of these preservatives are ok in small quantities and the food lobby opposes such legislation, I actually think we in America are behind the ball on this. The EU banned all the items covered by HB1208 nearly 20 years ago. Further, the preservatives listed are banned in Canada. These are peer nations and certainly they see reason to believe that these preservatives are harmful. Please vote to support this legislation.
