Critical Social Security Issue

To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt, Rep. Graves

From: A constituent in Plattsburg, MO

March 23

The prospect of Social Security operations being disrupted and benefit payments halted is deeply concerning. Preserving this vital social safety net for millions of Americans should be a paramount priority. I urge you to take immediate action to clarify the court order and ensure Social Security Administration employees can continue their essential work without interruption. Allowing the agency to potentially "shut down" and deny benefits to over 70 million recipients would be catastrophic and unacceptable. Regardless of any internal disputes or personnel matters, the efficient and uninterrupted delivery of Social Security benefits must be maintained. This program provides critical income for retirees, people with disabilities, and families who have lost loved ones - any disruption would devastate those who rely on these funds for their basic needs. I implore you to take decisive steps to prevent this scenario and safeguard the integrity of the Social Security system that so many people depend upon.
