I am writing to demand immediate action regarding the inhumane and unacceptable conditions at Krome Detention Center in Miami. Reports of detainee deaths, medical neglect, security failures, and overall mistreatment at the facility are a disgrace to our state and our nation. The continued operation of this center under such conditions is indefensible. As my elected representative, I expect you to take immediate steps to investigate these abuses, hold those responsible accountable, and push for meaningful reforms, including greater oversight and improved conditions for detainees. The suffering and negligence occurring at Krome cannot be tolerated any longer. Your constituents are watching. I urge you to act now.
