Demand Hegseth Resignation and Investigation into National Security Breach

To: Sen. Ernst, Rep. Feenstra, Sen. Grassley

From: A constituent in Huxley, IA

March 28

I am writing with grave concern following new reporting revealing that Pete Hegseth and other Trump administration allies routinely discussed sensitive military matters via unsecured Signal group chats. This represents an egregious breach of national security protocols and demands immediate congressional action. Given these revelations, I urge you to: 1) Publicly demand the resignation of Pete Hegseth from any government-affiliated role or advisory position, and 2) Launch a formal investigation into all individuals involved in these communications to determine: - The full scope of sensitive information shared - Whether any classified material was improperly disclosed - What security protocols were violated - Who else participated in or enabled these discussions The reported use of encrypted messaging platforms for military discussions reflects either staggering negligence or willful disregard for security procedures - either scenario being unacceptable for anyone with access to national defense information. This pattern of behavior, following previous security breaches by Trump administration figures, demonstrates systemic failures that Congress must address. Our national security cannot tolerate "off-the-books" discussions about military matters by unaccountable advisors. I expect your office to treat this with the seriousness it deserves and will be monitoring your response.
