I am very afraid for the future of our country. Two core freedoms which are in our Bill of Rights, freedom of speech and freedom of the press, are very much under attack by the current regime. Trump and Vance must be stopped and I'm wondering what your plans are to combat them? Freedom of Speech: The recent detention and disappearance of Mahmoud Khalil as well as Leqaa Kordia are very alarming . Further, threatening universities which allow "illegal" protests Fr m federal funding (and conveniently they don't cite and illegalities) is equally alarming. The right to dissent and protest must be protected. That is a core institution of Americans. Trump's recent visit to DOJ and claiming that CNN and MSNBC are acting illegally because they don't agree with him is a precursor of what is inevitably next - shutting them down and ending a free press. The above are what Hitler and other fascist regimes have done. We need active leadership to resist this. I cannot believe how afraid many of us feel these days. I never thought I would move abroad for anything other than for the experience of living abroad. I now am contemplating fleeing my country due to a fascist taking over the White House and Congress ceding power to him. Please help and stand up to Trump and convince your fellow congressmen to do the same before it is too late. Thank you
